This album was recorded between July 1996 and August 2004.
It is the result of three soundtracks conceived as four long suites.
The first two were made for theatrical performances by Marc Vincent Kalinka and represented between Italy and the Czech Republic. The third one was made for the Academy of Fine Arts in Brera (Milan).
Three very different chapters.
The first one, "ma le serve di Genet?", includes two compositions for grand piano with some wind instruments and violin.
The focus of this work is an ultra-modern interpretation of the three classic of the Middle-European songwriting, it is called "Europa che è morta".
The second one, "Hamlet", is modern classical suite for little orchestra (harp, flute, violin, electronic, syntesizers, afro percussion), chorus (soprano, tenor, countertenor, bass-baritone) and brief readings.
The third one, "Building up a cathedral from me", is composed of two long suites.
The first is for extended voice in choral overdubs, synthesizers, electronics, field recordings, tapes, programming (techno, jungle) and associates a classical soundtrack overture for synthesizers, field recordings and electronics, a central development of symphonic and progressive gothic, a "finale for musique concrete" (in a "Futurist" form).
The second is for extended voice in choral overdubs, electric guitars, synthesizers, bass guitar, programming, field recordings, programming. It combines krautrock with avant-garde, progressive-rock, psychedelic, contemporary classical, industrial, programming (trip-hop, jungle, techno, E.B.M.) electronics.
The final piece, "Exit?" was recorded live in 1996 and some overdubbings and electronic treatments were added later. It is an extreme avant songwriting piece for a wilde vocal range (from "deep" operatic bass to "soprano leggero").
